¡Tuvimos una productiva segunda sesión de talleres del programa WE Finance Code (Código de Finanzas para Mujeres Emprendedoras) que implementamos desde BID Invest con la Asociación de Bancos Múltiples de República Dominicana sobre “Cómo construir el Caso Estratégico y de Negocios para el segmento Mujeres”! 💼👩💼 En esta ocasión, nos enfocamos en “Cómo Utilizar los Datos para Desarrollar Estrategias Efectivas para MIPYMES Lideradas por Mujeres”. 📊👩💻 Este taller, dirigido a las instituciones financieras signatarias, tuvo como objetivo identificar los indicadores clave, tanto externos como internos, que son esenciales para comprender mejor a las MIPYMES lideradas por mujeres. También exploramos los eventos principales en la vida de las mujeres, buscando entender y satisfacer sus motivaciones y necesidades financieras en cada etapa. 💡💪 Aún persisten sesgos de género y percepciones erróneas sobre el riesgo de prestar dinero a mujeres, lo que limita el acceso a la financiación para muchas empresarias. Este es un reto que reconocemos y estamos decididos a enfrentar. Held at the World Bank headquarters in Bangladesh, the event gathered over 30 corporate representatives to discuss empowering Women-led Small and Medium Enterprises (WSMEs) and integrating them into corporate supply chains. A major challenge identified is the limited capacity of many women entrepreneurs. Despite offering innovative products, they often lack essential business management skills and market knowledge, which makes it difficult for them to connect with large corporations. This results in a disconnect¬: businesses may not be aware of these women’s offerings, and the women themselves may not know how to engage with these companies. Hosna Ferdous Sumi from the World Bank emphasized how the We-Fi Project is addressing these gaps by supporting women entrepreneurs in overcoming capacity and knowledge barriers. In partnership with World Bank Bangladesh and SME Foundation, Innovision Consulting is dedicated to helping women-owned SMEs join domestic and international value chains while promoting supplier diversity. We are improving the SMEF Suppliers Platform for Women Entrepreneurs, engaging with key stakeholders, and providing training to help women succeed in corporate supply chains using resources like the Corporate Connect website and SMEF mobile app. Watch the video for a deeper exploration of this pressing issue! wX Insights 2024 reveals the best practices of successful female STEMpreneurs in Latin America and the Caribbean who have raised capital, as well as the best practices of venture capital funds that have reported increased investment in women-led companies. 🔎Here’s a snapshot of our findings: ❕While 60% of investors have noticed an increase in women founders, 38% of #Entrepreneurs in Latin America and the Caribbean still face financing challenges. 📈Women #STEMpreneurs we spoke with who participated in entrepreneurship support programs had a higher probability of raising capital. 💵Investors are beginning to recognize the business case for investing in women STEMpreneurs based on experience with their portfolio companies. ✔️They are also recognizing the benefits of adopting best practices such as incorporating more women in investment decision-making and establishing gender metrics.
