As we approach the Jewish new year of 5785, we are reminded about the possibilities it brings. Every new year is filled with hope — and we approach the coming year with a belief in what we can accomplish as a WRJ community, coming together to create change through collective action. We are so excited to follow Rachel in all the amazing work that we know she will accomplish!
I recently finished up an incredible year in Washington D.C. where I was lucky enough to work as a Legislative Assistant for the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism and Women of Reform Judaism. My portfolio included issues I am incredibly passionate about such as reproductive rights and gender equality. I had the opportunity to work in coalitions with amazing partner organizations, such as Planned Parenthood Federation of America, National Council of Jewish Women, INC, National Women's Law Center, and more. I am so proud of the work we accomplished, including bringing over 50 members of the Jewish community to rally outside the Supreme Court for reproductive rights, drafting press releases on important SCOTUS cases like FDA v Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine or Idaho v. US, and working with an amazing team to write and pass new WRJ resolutions on reproductive rights and gun violence along with accompanying resources. I want to first thank the rest of my amazing cohort. Samantha Angelina, Noe Granados, Ellen Garfinkle, CJ Sánchez (FKA Wechsler) it was such a privilege to work with and learn from all of you. I also have thank my amazing managers Jacob Greenblatt and Rena Lubin, without whom this all would have been impossible. Thank you so much to everyone else who has been a part of this amazing journey, and I’m so excited for what comes next!

Women of Reform Judaism reposted this
"What if, in this moment of fracture and antisemitism and pain – what if we said YES to everyone who wants to be a part of Jewish life?" I shared these words during my d'var torah Friday evening of the Women of Reform Judaism Fried Women's Conference. What if we all said yes to inclusion? View an excerpt of my sermon here: https://lnkd.in/eHW_6qYW Shabbat Shalom!

Kudos to WRJ Executive Director Rabbi Liz P.G. Hirsch (she/her) for her thought-provoking op-ed featured in eJewish Philanthropy that reminds us of the power of deep relationships in supporting Israel. Her words resonate: 'What can you do now? Support broad-based efforts while looking to organizations with deep relationships that predate this conflict." Let's celebrate the importance of these connections in making a positive impact.
