  • Since Birthright Israel's inception, the Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies at Brandeis University has rigorously evaluated Birthright Israel’s impact on participants once they return home. New research from the Summer 2023 cohort underscores the transformative impact of Birthright Israel on our participants, particularly after October 7th. Compared to Birthright Israel applicants who did not participate in a trip last summer, the data reveals just how essential Birthright Israel is in the lives of young Jewish adults. 🇮🇱Read the full study here: https://lnkd.in/e8we8TrP #jewish #israel #birthrightisrael

  • The history and significance of Masada fit perfectly into the Birthright Israel journey. Masada's Jewish history represents the Jewish people's resilience, heroism, and, most of all, courage. The story of Masada is a crucial element for young Jewish adults on Birthright Israel as it ties them to the history of their ancestors and shows them that they, too, like the ancient Judeans, are resilient. • Did you know that 13,500 Jewish young adults will participate in Birthright Israel programs this summer? Following a turbulent year on their college campuses, during which they faced unprecedented hatred for being Jewish, Birthright Israel provides today’s Jewish young adults with a safe haven for dialogue, support, and the opportunity to gain further confidence and pride in their identity. Birthright Israel’s role in shaping our Jewish future is only just beginning. This summer, the impact of our programs on Jewish young adults will leave a lasting imprint on their hearts, minds, and communities and deepen their connection to Israel. • ✨ Veronica, a Birthright Israel participant, shares a sneak peek of observing Shabbat during our classic 10-day trip. ✨ Shabbat is a core theme of our educational programming, with many groups spending at least one Shabbat in Jerusalem. Experiencing Shabbat in Israel offers young Jews a unique way to discover its meaning. On a Birthright Israel trip, participants explore Shabbat through community, learning, and spirituality. Each group engages in Kabbalat Shabbat, whether at a local synagogue, their hotel, or outdoors, embracing prayer, poetry, or special celebrations.

  • Earlier this week, Birthright Israel donor Dr. Miriam Adelson addressed over 2,000 participants, alumni, volunteers, and Birthright Israel Foundation donor mission attendees at the annual Mega Event, which focused on unity and solidarity—the evening highlighted Birthright Israel's contribution to strengthening Israel and its connection with Diaspora Jews. 🇮🇱 #birthrightisrael #jewish #israel #amyisraelchai

I’ve never really considered myself a philanthropist, even though I’ve consistently supported various organizations and institutions. However, when my mom passed in 2020, my family made a very deliberate decision to honor her memory by becoming donors to the Birthright Israel Foundation. This organization, which my brother and I both benefitted from during our college years, provides free trips to Israel for young Jewish adults, helping them connect with their heritage and culture in a profoundly impactful way. As donors, we’ve had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the incredible work Birthright continues to do. Spending time with participants, educators, and staff in Israel over the past few days has been a powerful reminder of what this organization does to connect Jews from the diaspora with those in Israel. It also beautifully reinforces that, regardless of our individual situations and struggles, we are never alone.

  • "I have had many queer friends who have gone on non-LGBTQ+ [Birthright Israel] trips and have had extraordinary experiences, but other than guaranteeing comfort, I wanted my journey to be tailored towards experiencing Israel’s LGBTQ+ culture. To this day, this trip was the best experience I have ever had." -Monroe M., 2017 Birthright Israel Alum 🌈✡️🇮🇱 #pridemonth #jewishpride #birthrightisrael
