The children at our Powelton Village center could not be more excited about the new playground that they helped design. The playground will be entirely built by community volunteers. Our families are thrilled about the new playground that is coming to our Powelton Village Center on September 26! Designed with input from the children at our center, the new playground will be built by 150 community volunteers, led by KABOOM! and supported by Fannie Mae, as part of a nation-wide effort to end play space inequality.

The majority of the children served by our Powelton Village center live in the densely-populated urban area where the center is situated. As a result, many lack access to safe engaging spaces to play outside. That’s why Wonderspring has teamed up with KABOOM!, Fannie Mae and 150 community members who will come together to build a beautiful brand new playground at the center on September 26th.  We couldn’t be more excited! Thank you to Surge Ghosh ✔️ for an amazing 12 years of service on Wonderspring's Board of Directors. Surge joined what was then Montgomery Early Learning Centers Board in 2012, where he was an active and enthusiastic member of the Finance and Governance Committees, as well as serving as Board President from 2019-2023.
