Palmer Pathways is a great pre-apprenticeship program we are proud to partner with and support. They are helping build the next generation of trades workers one cohort at a time.
Our Scholars got a taste of the action with the Local 86 Iron Workers Union! They tackled real-life Iron Workers Physical Assessments, from packing & tying rebar to knot tying and scaling beam structures. This hands-on experience not only built skills but also sparked excitement for their future in the trades. And mark your calendars—our cohort graduation is coming up on October 3rd! We can't wait to celebrate their hard work and bright futures ahead! RSVP Here: https://lnkd.in/g5G9xJ-p #IronWorkers #HandsOnExperience #FutureTradespeople #ScholarsInAction #CohortGraduation

Many great things are happening through the work of the Pierce County Behavioral Health Consortium. While we just celebrated three Behavioral Health Interns who completed a Degrees of Change SEED summer internship, there are also 52 interns in Pierce County currently signed up and receiving monthly stipends to help support them while in their internships. This is part of a strategy identified by the Consortium to help boost retention. Most interns in the Behavioral Health field participate in internships with little to no pay, a struggle that was pointed out when we convened a group of stakeholders and practitioners. This is just one of several plans the Consortium has in the works to help support and strengthen this workforce in Pierce County.
