WPC teams up with Parkinson Society British Columbia and PD Avengers to bring the Parkinson Ready program to Vancouver, Canada. Why Vancouver? More than 100,000 people live in Canada with Parkinson’s, more than 17,500 of them reside in of British Columbia. Vancouver is not only home to many people living with Parkinson’s disease (PD), but also a world-class city that attracts tourists from around the globe via plane, train, car and cruise ship, and some of those tourists have Parkinson’s. This FREE one-hour program is designed for professionals working on the front lines of the tourism and hospitality industry. Offered in person, led by a locally based physical therapist and person with Parkinson’s, this program is designed to help people working in positions that interact with local citizens and tourists who may have Parkinson’s to: (1) better understand Parkinson’s disease and (2) increase their comfort level in working with and supporting people with Parkinson’s. Join one of these free trainings in Vancouver on November 25 or 26 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Tourism Industry Association of BC (TIABC).
