On Thursday, August 8th, please join WTS Boston for the annual Summer Tour featuring the MBTA's First Center Bus Lane! This project was a collaborative effort between the City of Boston, MBTA, and community stakeholders. The first in the region, the tour will be led by the MBTA, providing an exclusive look at the MBTA's completed Phase 1 of the Columbus Ave Bus Lane Improvement Project and the ongoing Phase 2 Project. Find more information here: https://lnkd.in/gTiDDa-k The MBTA with support from the City of Boston opened the first phase of their center-running bus lanes and boarding platforms along Columbus Ave in October 2021. The entire project will run from Egleston Square to Jackson Square and up to Ruggles Station near Northeastern University. By implementing this, the MBTA was able to enhance the commuter experience by allotting a separate lane solely for bus travel, and allowing for faster transportation throughout the busy city. This project has created safer access for pedestrians, faster travel for commuters, and has increased the reliability of the MBTA Bus System. Site tour begins at 2:30 PM at Jackson Square and will end at Ruggles Station at approximately 4:00 PM. Networking and pizza will follow after in the Raytheon Amphitheater in the Egan Research Center at Northeastern University. **Proper PPE is required: vest inclusive of reflective X on the back and five point break away ** Wear comfortable walking shoes. Tour will take place rain or shine! Non-refundable, no shows will be billed. Please contact Hannah Ellis with any dietary restrictions. Register here: https://lnkd.in/gASJ4VYj
