    Pedestrian safety remains a critical issue in our communities, and by prioritizing it, we can make our streets safer and more inclusive for everyone. The rising number of pedestrian fatalities highlights the need for concerted efforts to improve infrastructure and how individuals interact with that infrastructure safely.     LAST CALL FOR THE OCTOBER LUNCHEON! On Wednesday, October 16th, the WTS-Boston Programs Committee will be hosting Luisa Paiewonsky and Cynthia Maloney from the U.S. Department of Transportation/Volpe Center. Celebrating the 3rd Anniversary of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), they will present the national view of BIL with Massachusetts-specific examples of its impact, followed by the Project Delivery COE as a means of delivering the benefits of BIL to citizens and communities as quickly as possible.     Join the WTS-Boston Professional Development Committee on October 1st for a panel discussion focused on the Professional Engineering (PE) and Engineering-in-Training (EIT) exams. This hybrid event will cover key topics such as the application process, exam preparation tips, and the professional benefits of earning a PE license. Our panel includes Highway Administrator Jonathan Gulliver and District 6 Highway Director John Mclnerny, PE, both of MassDOT; Amanda Alzaim, EIT, of AJA Engineering; and Nancy Gould, PE, of WSP, who also serves on the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
