  • It’s no surprise that recruitment feels a bit noisy. For both job seekers and recruiters 🤯 It shouldn’t be so hard for the right candidates to find the right company for them. To find the right values. To find their people 🤩 We’ve always invested in helping candidates match to companies that are the right fit for them based on what they’re looking for from work, the industries they’re interested in, and company priorities. But, relying purely on data isn’t always enough. There is something more to finding your perfect match that is intangible. It can raise the hairs on your arms, and make your heart race. That’s why now, we not only match candidates; we also help companies bring their employer brand to life by showcasing employees, what it’s like to work there, and bringing purpose and mission to the forefront of job search. It’s more than helping produce strategic video and photo content—it’s about digging deeper to share what actually matters to candidates. In a way they actually care about. We’re super proud of the work we’ve launched this year with Ben, Multiverse, Orbital, AlphaSights, Dataiku and others to help the right candidates connect with them. And our team of in-house experts not only help employers understand how to attract and retain the right talent, they help quantify the value of employer brand with regular reporting and benchmarking. It’s been a while since we’ve introduced ourselves. Now felt as good a time as any 👋

  • Have you heard of Dunbar’s number? Coined in the 1990s by Robert Dunbar, a British anthropologist, Dunbar’s number theorizes that 150 is the maximum number of people our brains can have stable relationships with—or, as Dunbar put it, "the number of people you would not feel embarrassed about joining uninvited for a drink if you happened to bump into them in a bar.” So in massive corporate companies, culture is often treated as one-size-fits-all, leaving employees feeling disconnected and disengaged. So what is work culture, really? The truth? Culture isn’t built in all-hands meetings or corporate slogans—it’s forged in small, tight-knit teams. Following Dunbar, research suggests that: ✅ 4-5 person teams create the strongest connections. ✅ Employees deeply connected to their immediate team experience 62% less burnout. ✅ 73% of employees have left a job due to poor cultural fit. We don’t need more culture—we need better, localized, human-centered culture. Microcultures aren’t a problem; they’re the solution. • Is there no place like home? We can’t escape the fact that work has changed... permanently. Hybrid and remote setups in our homes or in third places have made flexibility the norm. But when the laptop shuts we realize we are alone. Employees are reporting greater feelings of isolation, teams are more fragmented, and creating a sense of company culture can feel like an afterthought. What do the numbers tell us? Nearly half of employees don’t feel connected to their coworkers. And while some workers might feel a sense of belonging in the office—only 23% of workers feel connected to their company culture. So what is culture? It isn’t just about company-wide initiatives, it’s built from the ground up, through IRL relationships. Connection isn’t optional. It’s the foundation of a thriving workforce. • "We’re more connected than ever, but 50% of people report that they’re really lonely. And we feel lonely at work as well." Work isn't just about productivity—it's where we find some of our deepest human connections. In our latest video, Dr. Tracy Brower, PhD reveals why the workplace is uniquely positioned to combat loneliness and create meaningful relationships. • Did you know that social rejection activates the same brain regions as physical pain? “It’s not just in your head—well, it is, but not in the way you think”: Hilary Scarlett, an international speaker, consultant, and author on neuroscience and organizational change management, tells us that the need for workplace connection is hardwired into our brain’s biology! According to the US Surgeon General, social disconnection impacts our health as much as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Yet in today's hybrid world, 47% of people don't feel connected to their coworkers. The good news? When employees are strongly connected to their workplace culture, they're 62% less likely to experience burnout. The key isn't in ping-pong tables or pizza parties—it's in creating human-centered teams where people feel seen, valued, and understood. Swipe through to discover what neuroscience tells us about building stronger workplace connections, and why team cultures might be the answer to our connection crisis. • Is corporate culture dead? Time for some real talk from Hebba Youssef, Chief People Officer at Workweek and creator of the "I Hate It Here" newsletter and podcast: "I don't want your ping-pong table or your fancy merch... What's going to give me purpose and value is the life I live outside of these walls." Gen Z is pushing boundaries and demanding authenticity in the workplace. They're not buying into the old corporate playbook… and honestly, neither should you. The stats are clear: only 2 in 10 US employees feel connected to their organization's culture. Maybe it's time to stop focusing on the ping-pong tournaments and start building something real? Read our latest ebook to discover why the future of workplace culture isn't about perks. It's about people 👉 https://bit.ly/41G2aLk

  • This International Women's Day, we're not just talking about change – we're helping drive it. The numbers are clear (and frankly, frustrating): the gender pay gap in the UK is widening for the first time in a decade, now at 11.3%. We've seen women consistently setting their salary expectations up to 15% lower than men for identical roles. That’s why we actively encourage women to aim higher when setting their minimum expected salary when setting up their Welcome to the Jungle profile. It's a small change that can make a big difference. But we know there's more work to do: 👉 Women are 3.1x more likely to worry about money daily 👉 Yet half as likely to seek financial advice 👉 And at the current rate, pay equality won't be achieved until 2065 HR & People leaders, we'd love to hear from you: what is your organisation actively doing to address pay inequity? • Here's a striking reality: 73% of people have left a job due to poor cultural fit. As traditional corporate culture fragments in hybrid environments, we're witnessing the emergence of something more meaningful: authentic human connection. What's really happening? 👉 Only 2/3 of employees feel connected to their organization's culture 👉 92% of C-suite executives acknowledge their company culture needs improvement 👉 Teams of 4-5 people create optimal connection in the workplace The truth? Company culture isn't dying – it's evolving. We're moving from forced fun to genuine community. From corporate monolith to vibrant microcultures. From ping-pong tournaments to purposeful relationships. As Dr. Tracy Brower, PhD wisely puts it: "When cultures are stronger, people will have a greater sense of connectedness, meaning, learning, growth—and all of these can reduce loneliness."
