It was such a pleasure working with Heather Bailey, M.A. on WUCF’s Florida Road Trip series. This edition explores the history of Winter Park and I was honored to share the story of how the City of Winter Park’s official city seal came to life. It was humbling to join so many of our Arts & Culture friends Christy Grieger, Ena Heller, Debbie Komanski, Rachel Simmons, Fairolyn Livingston, Jennifer Thalheimer, Dr. John Sinclair, Melissa Schneider and more. I’m so proud of team WUCF on being awarded a $20,000 PBS Elections and Civics Station Engagement Grant. We will be launching Arts in Action, a multi-platform series exploring Central Florida’s creative community through the lens of civic engagement. Arts in Action is part of a larger, three-year initiative from WUCF called #America250 which connects the station's content and engagement efforts and opens community conversations about how Central Florida is addressing the elections in 2024, civic engagement in 2025, and leading up to the semiquincentenniel celebration in July 2026.
