Exciting news! We have officially begun work on the new Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) at Powers Boulevard (CO 21) and Airport Road in Colorado Springs! This $46 million project is a testament to the kind of impactful work we do at WW Clyde. We're managing daily traffic of over 50,000 vehicles and ensuring easy access to key areas like Peterson Space Force Base. Collaborating with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), we're transforming the current signalized intersection into a cutting-edge DDI—only the third of its kind in the Pikes Peak region. “Our new interchange will significantly improve traffic flow and keep drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians much safer. We can’t wait to see everything come together,” said Cameron Thompson, Area Manager at WW Clyde. "Ever since I was little, I have loved to work with my hands. At my high school, they offered a class where a group of 15-20 students build a house from the ground up. I participated in and loved that experience and all of the friends that came from that class. When I went down to college at SUU, I decided to major in Construction Management. When I got offered this internship at WW Clyde, I was super excited. I knew it was most likely going to be different than a lot of my previous jobs. I would probably be living in a trailer and working with guys that were closer to my parents age than mine. I was super nervous the first day I pulled my trailer out to the job. It hasn't been easy but I have loved it so much. I learn something new every single day. Everyone around me is super willing to help me learn and answer my questions. Since our job is one of the smaller ones, I have been super lucky to be involved in almost every aspect of the project which has taught me so much.
