XanthosHealth reposted this
Senior Advisor to the Deputy National Coordinator for Health IT and Innovation Portfolio Lead at U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)
Oh what a night! - Less than year ago, the CancerX Moonshot Community spoke with one voice, issuing a call for more #digitalhealth tools in the field of #oncology across the following 5 key areas; - Screening and Diagnosis - Treatment and Management - ClinOps - Experience and Survivorship - #ClinicalTrials Over 100 promising entrepreneurs answered that call, with 16 being selected to participate in the inaugural cohort of the CancerX Startup Accelerator. Of those 16, 75% were BIPOC founders, 50% were female/non-binary founders, and 75% were first time founders! Last night at the MassChallenge HQ in Boston, was our graduation / FINALE showcase, celebrating all that was achieved during the 4 months of intense, carefully curated programming. Extremely grateful for all the commitment, effort, and support of those who made this inaugural cycle such a success, with special recognition going to the following; - The CancerX Co-Hosts, Moffitt Cancer Center and the Digital Medicine Society (DiMe), for your leadership and partnership in launching and orchestrating this entire endeavor, and for always creating the opportunity for anyone/everyone to have a seat at the table! - The amazing team at Innsena, for joining the cause as the first (and so far only) "Impact Sponsor" of CancerX overall, and for all of your additional engagement, support and contributions to the success of the Startup Accelerator. This includes flying into Boston last night to attend the FINALE event and celebrate this important milestone with us. Thank you Kat McDavitt and Leslie Kirk! - MassChallenge, for stepping in to help support the execution of the accelerator in our first year, and for partnering with the accelerator team at Moffitt and the rest of us to design a truly one of a kind experience for all of the startups AND champions (and mentors)! - All of the Champions, for your willingness to not only dedicate hundreds of hours of senior and frontline staff time, but also for being open to doing things differently by listening to and learning from these 16 passionate innovators. You truly delivered on opening up your doors and minds! - and last but certainly not least, to the The White House / White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Cancer Moonshot Team, for creating the call to action on defeating this disease, and inspiring us all to come together and work on decreasing the death rate by 50% over the next 25 years, and to work towards reducing the burden on patients and their families, as they are faced with the experiences of going through a #cancer diagnosis, treatment, and what challenges often follow. See below in the comments for more details "by the numbers!"

We are humbled to be selected to participate as part of the inagural cohort of CancerX Moonshot accelerator from over 100 companies. Today was our graduation after four months of an incredible experience surrounded by resources, mentors and champions dedicated to advance cancer survivorship. Thank you to all partners and our fellow accelerator companies for all you do on this mission!
🎉 It’s graduation day for CancerX’s Accelerator program's inaugural cohort of startups! For four months, The Blue Box Biomedical Solutions, C the Signs, Cancer Insights, Curiva, EnteroTrack LLC., Gesund.ai, Gray Oncology Solutions, Lind, Mika, Navya Care, Oatmeal Health, Orbit Genomics, Realyze Intelligence, Reimagine Care, SurvivorPlan, XanthosHealth, collaborated with Accelerator Champions, Mentors, federal partners, and CancerX members across the healthcare ecosystem to generate and scale ideas that have the potential to save lives and improve the experience of cancer patients and their caregivers—both strongly tied to CancerX and the Cancer Moonshot goals. The startups shared ideas for digital innovation in clinical research, screening and diagnosis, treatment and management, clinical operations, and patient, caregiver, and survivor experience, and were selected from a strong pool of over 100 startup applicants. Judging for the CancerX Accelerator was led by Moffitt Cancer Center and MassChallenge alongside CancerX Accelerator Champions Atrium Health, AstraZeneca, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Debiopharm, Dell Technologies, Intel Corporation, Oncology Ventures, Reveal HealthTech, and UC Davis Health with insight and observation by our federal partners. By graduating from the Accelerator program, these startups now have a roadmap to successfully scale their company, an opportunity to move forward with their sponsor, and a strong community supporting their development. And with 16 empowered startups poised for success and equipped with the tools and expertise needed to bring their ideas to life, significant strides are being made in revolutionizing the fight against cancer through digital innovation. 👏 Please join us in recognizing and celebrating these Startups, their Champions, and Mentors, and the incredible impact of their progress in CancerX’s mission to unleash the power of innovation to reduce the burden of cancer for everyone. We’re thrilled to offer you the chance to be involved in our next cohort! Submissions for Cohort 2025 will open soon, and if you want to join the CancerX Accelerator as a Startup, Champion, or Mentor, be the first to hear about the details for Cohort 2025 by signing up here: https://lnkd.in/ebpXGwXa
