March 2024 brought an exciting opportunity for iheed at the Yardstick Management Institute in California! 🌴 Our Medical Director, Kunal D Patel, joined forces with Ms Kelly McKee from Astrazeneca to deliver a riveting talk on patient-centric solutions in healthcare, with a special focus on the future role of AI. 🗣️👥 The institute’s theme, ‘Navigating AI & New Tech for a Diverse and Responsible Tomorrow’, resonated with leaders from diverse industries. The discussions were rich, covering the future of work, ethical AI, innovation, diversity, and inclusion in tech. 🌐💡 Dr. Patel and Ms. McKee emphasized the importance of local action in understanding health inequalities and the need to consider indigenous local knowledge for meaningful impacts. 🌍💫 AI, when designed with regulation and negative bias in mind, can provide compassion. This was demonstrated by Ms. McKee, who showed how the clinical research industry is embracing AI tech with for example, the design of virtual twins. 🤖💖 Dr. Patel highlighted the necessity to understand patient journeys so that AI can positively impact patient outcomes. 🏥💪 AI design is now part of everyday conversation, and such elements are essential for health education, diversity, healthcare and the wider tech space.
