✨ Women’s History Month Spotlight: Claire Sindail ✨ #TBT & #BTS of our WOW alumna sharing her incredible journey! 💜 From moving to Haiti as a child to overcoming the challenges of relocating back to Chicago after the 2010 earthquake, Claire found strength in education, mentorship, and resilience. With the support of WOW and her counselor, Doretha Brown, she discovered a safe space to grow, learn, and thrive at Bowen High School. Claire’s journey didn’t stop there! She went on to earn her degree at the University of Southern Indiana, joined the U.S. Army Reserve as Private First Class, and continues to give back to her community—mentoring WOW students and volunteering as a translator for Haitian families. Her story is a powerful example of how WOW and the right support can change lives. Feeling incredibly grateful and honored to have had the opportunity to present at SXSW EDU yesterday! It was an amazing experience to share the impact of EVOLVE and how we are fostering educator and student well-being through social-emotional learning. A huge thank you to Monica Garcia and the Judson Independent School District in Texas for being such incredible partners in this work. Your commitment to supporting educators and creating meaningful spaces for students to thrive is truly inspiring. It was a privilege to highlight how EVOLVE is transforming school communities and to engage in such an important conversation about sustained well-being, coaching, and embedding SEL into school culture. Leading this work at Youth Guidance is something I am deeply passionate about. Every day, I see the impact that intentional SEL, strong relationships, and educator support have on creating schools where both students and adults feel valued, seen, and supported. In our "Building Your Perfect Partner" workshop, students explored the key components of healthy relationships, gaining self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and tools for cultivating positive partnerships. One student bravely shared her preference for "bad boys" and, through conversation, revealed a deeper desire to feel needed. Her honesty sparked a meaningful discussion on self-worth, relationship dynamics, and the importance of choosing partners who uplift and support growth. Our WOW girls from CVS and Julian High School had an unforgettable experience at The Lip Lab, where they explored self-confidence and self-discovery in a fun and empowering environment. 💄💖 They created custom self-love products to promote positive self-talk, embrace their beauty, and boost their self-esteem. 🌟 Of course, it wouldn’t be a WOW Girls self-care day without bonding over the importance of healthy relationships and self-awareness too! Students shared how this experience helped them step outside their comfort zones, celebrate their individuality, and grow as leaders. A huge thank you to The Lip Lab for this amazing opportunity and for making it all possible!
