About us

Youth Climate Action Team Inc. is an international 501(c)4 nonprofit composed of 2,500+ organizers across every inhabited continent and 30 countries, having reached 500,000+. Were backed by our generous donors including The Bezos Earth Fund, Future Coalition, Old Navy, The Karma for Cara Foundation, and countless other individual contributors. Our past partners include the Environmental Protection Agency, United Nations Environment Programme, and The White House in addition to community organizations and celebrity influencers. We have spearheaded lobbying efforts at domestic and international scales, equitable climate education programs and curriculum, activism leadership development, speaker series summits, and unprecedented research. We additionally collaborate with students and organizations indirectly tied to the climate crisis—political activism groups, women empowerment groups, science national honor societies, youth service groups, etc.—to expand the intersectional climate movement and prepare our generation for the future. We strive to expand the climate movement to eliminate societal complacency and cultivate a diverse, collective, and empathetic movement. Email us at contact@ycatinc.com

Microgrant recipient Max (VA), 18, used his K4C award to fund a children’s book about climate change & environmental issues to encourage dialogue amongst teachers, young students & parents on those topics. As part of Youth Climate Action Team Inc. Max & Vihaan (below) sent free copies of the book to Title I schools in the US that experience unequal access to books & climate education. You can look forward to a blog post about their project next month! Nicely done, Max, Vihaan & team! • An enormous victory for our movement! We are so proud of Executive Director Catherine Jeon and Policy Director Simrin Chowdhury for representing us at the NEYAC launch today.

Today, Youth Climate Action Team Inc. had the distinct pleasure of being invited by US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael S. Regan to attend the launch of the National Environmental Youth Advisory Council. As one of the few youth-led organizations given the opportunity to testify at The White House Council on Environmental Quality’s inaugural community connection centering #youth stakeholdership in #environmentaljustice — an initiative I proudly championed during my tenure at CEQ — words cannot convey the enormity of this triumph for our movement. Three years ago, during my senior year of high school, I had the privilege of meeting Administrator Regan and representing YCAT on this very topic through the #YouthInGov movement. It is awe-inspiring to witness what consistent, determined, and meaningful organizing can achieve in just three years. I am beyond proud of YCAT Executive Director Catherine Jeon and Policy Director Simrin Chowdhury for representing us today. The NEYAC stands as a testament to the potential within the #youthclimatemovement and marks the dawn of a new generation of young decision-makers shaping our country’s future. Nonetheless, our imperative remains steadfast: to vigilantly hold decision-makers accountable until the council's guidance is translated into potent policy measures that bring tangible benefits to communities across the nation.
