Now serving patients in California, Texas and Washington! Introducing Zócalo Health, a virtual primary care service specializing in culturally-sensitive care for the Latino community. Our mission is to eliminate barriers to healthcare access by offering same-day appointments and emphasizing long-lasting relationships over one-time transactions. At Zócalo Health, each member is paired with a dedicated community health worker (promotora de salud) to create a personalized, relationship-based partnership. This approach enables us to better understand each member's goals, values, and unique cultural background. Studies have demonstrated that such relationship-centered care leads to improved health outcomes over time. Our comprehensive care model focuses on prevention, primary care, behavioral health, and traditional practices, all working together in harmony to support our members' well-being. We believe in promoting holistic wellness that encompasses physical, mental, social, and spiritual aspects, ultimately empowering our members, families, and communities to thrive. Experience the Zócalo Health difference today and join our growing community of satisfied members!

Upon first glance, this image simply shows two little girls playing with a stethoscope. But look closer, and you'll see a story unfolding—one that brings tears to my eyes. I see two little brown girls. They will undoubtedly be dismissed by many in society just as many of us have growing up. But what I see in this photo is their little brains being rewired. At this event, they not only learned about important health topics through kid-friendly activities, they were in a place that celebrated who they are. They heard music that their mom's probably listen to while they mop. But there was an intentional encounter that took place that afternoon... At our event, these girls met a medical student who mirrored their own image, a Latina, planting seeds of aspiration and possibility. While I can't predict their futures, I'm hopeful that the impact of that meeting will resonate deeply in them and inspire them and motivate them to dream big. I pray and I dream that Zócalo Health will be around for 20+ years from now, and that these girls might recall a defining moment at our event that inspired their journey. I hope you all enjoy your Friday and carry into the weekend the joy and inspiration reflected in the smiles of these little girls, celebrated for who they are. Let's embrace the opportunity to inspire our youth, encouraging them to build upon the foundation we've established together. Our collective efforts are nurturing a legacy of health, empowerment, and pride in our community. As we move forward, let's commit to creating an environment where our children can see themselves as changemakers, playing pivotal roles in their own stories and the broader narrative of our nation. Enjoy your weekend, and let's continue to inspire! A special shout out to all my physician friends who have been supportive of our continued work - Sarah Lopez, MD, MBA, Manisha Sharma, MD, FAAFP, Barbara Robles-Ramamurthy, Murdoc Khaleghi, Sunita Mishra MD, MBA, Nworah Ayogu, Toyin Ajayi, Nona Hanson MD FAAFP and countless others.
