  • We're proud to introduce Karen Jauregui as our 2025 Boston Run/Walk Executive Committee Chair. Her journey with ZERO began in 2019, but her connection to our mission started earlier, when her husband Peter was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer at age 49. After losing Peter in 2017, Karen channeled her experience into advocacy and support for others affected by prostate cancer. From her first Run/Walk to becoming a Summit attendee and ultimately joining our Board of Directors in 2021, Karen has been a tireless advocate for awareness and early detection. "I have always been vocal that the Boston Run/Walk could attract more people and raise more money," Karen shares. "When asked to take on this role, I knew it was time to put my words into action." Her vision is to create an inclusive, energetic event where patients, survivors, caregivers, and surviving family members all feel supported and connected. Join Karen and our Boston community on Sunday, September 7 as we come together to make a difference! Register today at zerocancer.run/boston. #ZEROProstateCancer #ZERORunWalk #Boston

  • The prostate cancer community has lost a notable figure with the passing of Formula 1 pioneer Eddie Jordan at age 76 after his year-long battle with aggressive prostate cancer. His passing highlights the ongoing need for increased awareness among men of all ages, earlier detection, and better treatment options for advanced disease. Our thoughts are with Eddie's family and the entire Formula 1 community. His legacy in motorsport will live on, and his battle with prostate cancer underscores the importance of our mission to improve and save lives from prostate cancer through advocacy, awareness, education, and support. 💙 #ZEROProstateCancer #ZeroStigma #ZeroBarriers

  • 🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨 Tonight, the Senate voted to approve a devastating 57% cut to Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP), putting the Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) at risk. PCRP’s groundbreaking research at the Department of Defense (DOD) has prioritized treatments for advanced stages of prostate cancer and led to FDA-approved treatments, saving countless lives. Cutting vital funding that could eliminate the PCRP is a gut-wrenching blow to the patients, families, and communities who depend on these lifesaving breakthroughs. Especially veterans and active duty military who are twice as likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer. Our fight to preserve PCRP will not end here. ZERO remains steadfast in our commitment to working with the DOD and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to safeguard this essential program because it is needed now more than ever given the rise of metastatic prostate cancer in recent years–due in part to our failure to screen men at the highest risk of developing the disease more effectively. Stay tuned for how you can help. hashtag #ZEROProstateCancer hashtag #ResearchSavesLives hashtag #FundPCRP

  • 🚨 BREAKING🚨 The House of Representatives just approved a 57% cut in funding for Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP), including the Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP). This cut threatens vital research that has historically led to FDA-approved treatments and countless saved lives. The impact on our community will be significant: ◾ A man dies from prostate cancer every 15 minutes ◾ Veterans and active duty military face double the risk ◾ African American men are 70% more likely to develop it and twice as likely to die from it ◾ This year alone, 313,780 Americans will be diagnosed This isn't just about numbers – it's about fathers, brothers, sons, and friends. It's about the 3 million+ men living with prostate cancer who depend on these research breakthroughs. We won't stop fighting. Despite this setback, we remain committed to advocating for the funding and research that saves lives. 💙 #ZEROProstateCancer #PCRP #CDMRP
