The Opportunity
As a dedicated Actuarial Analyst Entry-Level, you will coordinates, prepares and performs actuarial analyses required to develop new products, project future results, reprice existing products, and/or determine financial strength. Under direct supervision, performs routine work assignments and problem resolution to support other team members.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position will be based in our Charlotte, NC location.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $61,110 - $116,800.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

What You'll Do
- Acquires and applies foundational knowledge of the business, its products, and processes.
- Utilizes actuarial modeling software for pricing, valuation, and/or risk management.
- Enters data and tables, runs models, and generates reports.
- May make adjustments and improvements to models, when appropriate.
- Maintains proper price level, price structure, data availability and other requirements to achieve profitability and competitive goals.
- Identifies critical experience areas to monitor and suggest timely remedies to correct or prevent unfavorable trends.
- Identifies sources of gain and loss by product and assumption.
- Tests pricing assumptions and the appropriate premiums, interests margins, reserves, and cash values for new products.
- Seeks guidance from team members to resolve issues and to identify appropriate issues for escalation.
- Adheres to the USAA Actuarial Exam Program Guidelines and the Actuarial Cross Train Program Guidelines.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 additional years of Actuarial/business/analytical experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a Degree.
- Up to 2 years Actuarial/business/analytical experience + 1 or more Casualty Actuarial Society exams completed
- P&C Pricing/Reserving/Catastrophe or Analysis experience
- Experience working within three lines of defense model risk management framework
- Experience with SQL and Python or R or Igloo
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
