Certification and ODA Administration Engineer

Bell has an opening for a Certification Engineer supporting Commercial Aircraft Certification activities.

In this role, the Certification Engineer is a member of the ODA (Organizational Designation Authorization) Administration and Certification organization and is responsible for overseeing the regulatory administration, as well as, serving as the primary systems interface between certification and IT. The role is an integral part of the team, working closely with administrative staff, unit members, programs, and IT.

This role is located onsite in Fort Worth, TX at Bell’s Commercial Business Center.

What you’ll be doing as a Certification Engineer:

  • Create, update, and maintain certification task instructions, procedures, policies, and business directives ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and the ODA Procedures Manual
  • Review FAA Orders and other regulatory materials, and identify/draft changes to ODA procedures to ensure continued compliance
  • Learn, understand, and facilitate Bell responses to the regulatory rulemaking (NPRM) process
  • Work issues to resolution for FAA or ODA identified regulatory non-compliances
  • Develop certification training modules for non-ODA personnel
  • Primary point of contact for PLM certification support, training, and future upgrades





Skills You Bring To this Role:

  • Knowledge of the certification and ODA regulatory environment
  • Excellent communication skills; experience building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with a broad range of people and roles, including regulators, IT, programs, and quality assurance
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team, prioritizing responsibilities based on criticality

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
  • At least 2+ years of related experience in aerospace engineering.
  • Knowledge of the certification and ODA regulatory environment and work with the FAA preferred.
  • Knowledge of Bell’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and IT Service Request Now systems, preferred
  • Exceptional skills in MS Office including MS Excel and SharePoint
