Summary of the role:

The Underwriter Assistant is responsible for assisting the Underwriters and Underwriting Team Lead with processing all transactions such as policy rating, policy issuance, endorsements, cancellations and reinstatements within the Company guidelines, written and verbal communication with agents, and other duties necessary to ensure that the best customer service is provided to all internal and external customers. *This is a limited term role*

What would be your day in the life at Builders?

• Process renewal transactions after the Underwriters evaluate and review the risk
• Prepare the renewals for policy issuance
• Maintain diary for all requests from agents
• Perform post underwriting duties for all new business that is consistent with the documented procedures
• Process all requests received from the agents and Underwriters accurately and timely
• Assist Underwriters in daily needs based on workload and priority
• Handle customer service and telephone calls for Underwriters and department
• Assist Underwriters in contacting agents when additional information is needed
• Monitor all reports to ensure the timely correction of all policy issues
• Additional duties and projected as assigned

What skills will you need?

• High School Diploma required
• Risk Management or related disciplines preferred
• 2 - 3 years P&C policy processing experience preferred
• Knowledge of the construction industry preferred
• 3 or more years of workers’ compensation or general liability experience preferred
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and focus on detail
• Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
• Ability to interact with individuals at all levels, inside and outside of the company
• Computer literate; strong Microsoft Office skills
