Be a part of the talented team that brings America the #1 streaming news channel. ABC News Live has an opening for a Associate Booking Producer in NYC.

Responsibilities:

The job entails booking guests for weekend and weekday news segments and during breaking news coverage, as well as prepping guests for shows, live producing segments in the control room, and pitching and vetting guests thoroughly. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for pre-interviews and contributing to suggested introductions and questions for segments, as well as gathering elements for the rundown and arranging transmission/transportation for guests when needed. ABCNL Booking APs may be asked to compile research lists, Booking Lists, daily clippings and support senior staff as needed. Candidate will be required to work a schedule on the weekends, early mornings/late nights, and some holidays. Assignments and hours may shift depending on network needs. There may be some travel involved as news warrants. This position requires working from ABC News offices and is not remote. ABCNL Booking Producers will work to ensure guests reflect the demographics of our target audience and present a wide variety of viewpoints on various subjects. They will also work closely with teams across other ABC News platforms.

Basic Qualifications:


  • The ideal candidate will have TV production experience including booking guests and working in a control room.
  • Minimum of 2 plus years of booking experience in a fast-paced news environment or on a similar live broadcast or streaming channel.
  • iNews, Avid and Lexis/Nexis experience a plus
  • Candidate needs to possess strong editorial judgment along with the ability to communicate clearly, multi-task and prioritize.
  • Candidate must be able to take initiative, but also work collaboratively
  • Candidate must be flexible enough to work in a start-up environment, but also learn and work with existing systems in the broadcast side of ABC News.


Required Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $59,100 to $81,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
