Responsibilities:


  • Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning and general servicing of HVAC controls systems (including detailed troubleshooting of systems).
  • Extensive knowledge of Tridium Niagara systems.
  • Program, load, and commission systems and network-level controllers.
  • Develop and test software programs necessary to operate the system per the project requirements.
  • Review and understand project plans and specifications to accomplish project goals and objectives.
  • Compile point-to-point checkout documentation and internal commissioning reports.
  • Conduct extensive self-study (reading, research, and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in the company's product and service offerings.
  • Complete and maintain certifications as required by the company.
  • Provide direct customer support throughout the initial installation, programming, and maintenance of BAS systems.
  • Ability to travel from site-to-site, with company vehicle, on short notice.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by meeting with customers regularly, familiarizing yourself with operations, keeping customers informed on the nature of the service provided, and offering insight into outstanding issues and recommendations for system upgrades, enhancements, and/or replacements.
  • Train customers in control systems operation.
  • Work with commissioning personnel to ensure the system is working as designed.
  • Collect field data for retrofits, upgrades, and/or enhancements to existing equipment.
  • Provide field change information/sketches to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software.
  • Assist in the design and configuration of building control systems as defined by contract documents.
  • Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics
  • Provide mentorship to field and technical staff on complex building automation systems.
  • All other duties related to the installation, commissioning, and servicing of building and grow controls, facilities management systems, and energy management systems as assigned.


Required Skills:


  • Vocational high school graduate or a degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or two years of experience in servicing electronic and or mechanical systems
  • Solid understanding of HVAC and DDC electrical control systems.
  • 5+ years of experience installing and servicing direct digital control systems and HVAC equipment.
  • Expertise in Tridium Niagara systems.
  • Must have experience with Johnson Controls current and Legacy control products and systems.
  • Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.
  • Experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (i.e. LON, BacNet, N2, Modbus, etc).
  • Advanced computer and computer-related drafting skills.
  • Ability to coordinate the work of others on multiple job sites.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
