Chemical Engineer
Position Overview: The Chemical Process Engineer will assist in the design, development, and optimization of chemical processes. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the Chemical Process Engineer will conduct experiments, analyze data, and support the implementation of process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a desire to learn and grow within the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of chemical processes, including conducting experiments, analyzing data, and preparing reports.
- Support senior engineers in optimizing existing processes to improve efficiency, yield, and safety.
- Conduct laboratory experiments to test process parameters, formulations, and equipment performance.
- Collect and analyze process data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including process flow diagrams, operating procedures, and batch records.
- Assist in the scale-up of processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial scale.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research and development, production, and quality control, to ensure seamless integration of process improvements.
- Monitor process performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure consistent quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, applying best practices and innovative solutions to enhance process performance.
- Stay current with industry trends, advancements in chemical engineering, and regulatory changes, and apply this knowledge to support process development and optimization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
- 1-5 years of experience in chemical process engineering
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, process design, and unit operations.
- Proficiency in data analysis and process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a detail-oriented approach to work.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA) preferred.
