Civil Engineer

A well-established engineering consultancy is looking for a Civil Engineer. They operate across a variety of industries, including transportation, real estate, federal and local government, and energy sectors. They recently launched an exciting 5-year strategic plan focused on energy, and while it is a newer discipline within the business, this is backed by the prominence of a successful 45+ year engineering firm.

They have recently made the transition into renewable energy generation across multiple verticals, including Solar, BESS, Wind, Hydro, EV charging, and anaerobic digestion. They have already delivered utility-scale projects such as Canton Landfill Solar, South Fork Off-Shore Wind, Solar carports, and CT battery energy storage.

Their leadership team within the energy practice has a total of 100 years of experience within the renewable sector. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team in a financially backed and stable company.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assist in creating design and permitting documentation for land development in Solar and BESS projects.
• Draft and review drawings and specifications to document the system designs.
• Oversee project financial performance and maintain regular communication with clients.
• Participate in meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and community members to address design and permitting concerns.
• Supervise and support the professional growth of junior staff.
• Manage projects of varying sizes.
• Identify new project opportunities and help develop and submit proposals.

We are looking for someone with a background similar to:

• Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports
• A P.E. license or willingness to obtain one within 6 months
• Proficiency in site layout, grading, and stormwater management
• A BS in Civil Engineering or a related degree
