Content Manager Job Description: The Content Manager is integral to the development and management of editorial and meeting content across multiple platforms, with an emphasis on interviewing, composing, copy-editing, proof-reading, and fact-checking. In doing so, the Content Manager will regularly cross-collaborate with Meetings, Marketing and Communications, Provider Education, and Membership for a national oncology nonprofit organization client, The Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC). On the client-facing side, the Content Manager will regularly liaise with client members, authors, and speakers in the healthcare field.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manage and complete tasks related to the bi-monthly Oncology Issues journal as assigned by Senior Director, Editorial Content and Strategy:
    • Conduct interviews and write departments (Tools, Spotlight, Issues, Action, Views) for bi-monthly journal, Oncology Issues.
    • Suggest topics and authors and assist in the development of annual editorial calendar.
    • Assign and do a first edit of Oncology Issues feature articles.
    • Liaise with authors to ensure editorial content is received on time and that internal and external deadlines are met.
    • Write and manage web and digital copy for Oncology Issues, including the First Look email alerts and updates to the journal landing page.
    • Ensure timely and accurate metadata (with descriptions) for editorial content in each published issue of the journal.
    • Work with Membership team to ensure timely, accurate updating of Oncology Issues authors in Fonteva.
  • Manage the digital ACCC Patient Assistance Guide:
    • Research and gather publicly available information on pharmaceutical and foundation patient assistance programs and reimbursement resources; ensure accuracy of all information.
    • Liaise with Development team to include any relevant advertising content.
    • Work with Marketing team to update the digital Patient Assistance Guide on a quarterly basis.
    • Collaborate with internal (PMs for FAN and OPEN) and external (Advisory Committees) stakeholders to review and make recommendations for changes and/or improvements to the digital Patient Assistance Guide.
  • Manage and perform meeting-related tasks as assigned by Senior Director, Editorial Content and Strategy:
    • Speaker management for all Flagship Meetings.
    • Manage and provide real-time updates to meeting content on shared documents.
    • Work with speakers to develop and produce editorial deliverables (blogs, .ppt presentations).
    • Collaborate with Editorial Content & Strategy and Marketing teams on how best to leverage meeting content.
    • Liaise with authors and speakers to ensure editorial content is received on time and that internal and external deadlines are met.
  • Editorial lead on FAN education initiative and other education projects as assigned by Senior Director, Editorial Content and Strategy.
  • Manage and update CMI Style Guide and Faculty Handbook.
  • Copyedit, proofread, and fact-check a variety of other editorial and meeting content to include blogs, web copy, and print and online publications.
  • Brainstorm ways to maximize editorial and meeting content across multiple platforms.
  • Actively participate in assigned CORE Group.
Required Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of professional experience in project coordination/management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, or English
  • Experience in writing, editing, copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, and Access) is required
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet deadlines, to handle a diverse workload, and to produce high-quality materials
  • Must be detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills
  • Is team-oriented and able to work independently
  • Some travel to regional/national meetings expected

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in oncology, healthcare, and/or medical technology.
  • Familiarity with AMA style and proofreader marks.
  • Familiarity with producing and maximizing editorial and meeting content for social media outlets.
  • Familiarity with Content Management systems.
