Corporate & Securities Associate

Scale LLP is seeking a Corporate & Securities Associate with 3-4 years of experience to support our growing and diverse national corporate practice. This is a fully remote position. Preferred location in Austin or Dallas, Texas.

The Opportunity

As a Corporate & Securities Associate, you will report to the Corporate Practice Group Leader and will support our clients on a range of matters. Your day may include closing a real estate transaction, counseling on international employment and visa issues, negotiating commercial contract nuances, spearheading M&A diligence, supporting all phases of corporate litigation including subpoena response and e-discovery management, documenting corporate actions and creating policies, conducting internal investigations, and advising on brand protection and IP commercialization efforts.

Our ideal candidate will have a broad business background and will be comfortable advising on legal, regulatory and operational requirements across a wide variety of areas including privacy, consumer protection, employment, finance and corporate.

As a Scale Associate, you will have the opportunity to work directly with our Corporate Practice Group Leader and other world class attorneys who have practiced both in-house as Public Company GCs and in BigLaw domestically and internationally. Our remote first model allows our Scale associates to practice law from the comfort of their home with the expectation that they will be fully engaged and available during normal business hours. Scale’s best-in-class practitioners share a desire to provide practical, valuable, and timely service to their clients, and we expect the same from our associates.

Compensation and Billable Hour expectations

Scale operates on a non-traditional business model; while this position comes with a full-time engagement expectation, we are a fully remote firm with no offices. Associates take home a base salary, and are eligible for production bonuses starting at 1,250 billed hours annually. Associates are also eligible for origination payouts on matters that they bring to the firm. The firm also contributes to health insurance premiums for plans elected through Scale.

Requirements

All applicants must have at least 3-4 years of experience working with corporate clients at a top-tier law firm. Our ideal candidate demonstrates:
