Data Analyst
The client is seeking a Data Analyst to document requirements, conduct business user acceptance testing, and support division reporting processes. Our project seeks to automate data collection and data quality checks to streamline processes and reduce risk for external reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
• Document/maintain business requirements for metrics in external reports and relevant data quality checks. This includes documenting the metric visual, methodology, other similar reported metrics, points of contact, approach for the build, change log, etc.
• Collaborate and work with tech team, client team, report leads, data teams across the company, architecture, and leadership on data requirements, data analysis, approach for implementation/releases, enhancement of features, etc.
• Prepare UAT test cases based on the business requirements, the build approach, and needs of the division Report Leads.
• Write SQL queries to pull and validate data from upstream data sources and conduct detailed data analysis.
• Conduct testing to ensure data from queries of the upstream source(s) match the aggregated data in our data application (AWS) and reporting platform (Workiva) and that data quality checks are operating as expected. Additionally, test enhancements and check data against historical reporting and ensure format matches needs of report leads. Log any defects encountered and work with partners to investigate and resolve or escalate as appropriate.
• Support reporting processes and ad-hoc data analysis/testing. This may include linking data, refreshing data, setting up for new reporting periods, updating data sources, or ensuring no impacts from upstream releases.
• Prepare presentations and summaries for executive management, Report Leads, and other partners.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field such as information systems, finance, data science, computer science, computer engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years applicable experience (performing data analysis, requirements documentation, or UAT) required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and attention to detail.
• Strong SQL experience and ability to write complex queries.
• Strong Excel and intermediate Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word), JIRA.
• Experience with Workiva or mortgage finance industry is a plus.
