Job Goal

Provide data quality analysis to ensure that the data in/out that is used through the Texas Education Exchange Platform-as-a-Service is accurate and meets user requirements.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Math, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology

Experience

Three years of related work experience in the area of data quality analysis, preferably within the education sector

Special Knowledge And Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting utilizing the Ed-Fi Data Standard, preferred
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects, priorities, and meet deadlines with attention to detail
  • Proven experience in quality assurance tools and methodologies
  • Experience in developing new test processes for software and data products
  • Experience working with large volumes of data and testing data flow across multiple systems
  • Hands-on experience working with cloud services such as AWS and relational databases (SQL)
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Qlik Sense, Power BI, etc.
  • Ability to document complex business and technical processes
  • Ability to collaborate with development teams, business partners, software engineers, and others stakeholders to enhance and improve data science and analytics principles and practices

Major Responsibilities

  • Support our new data governance model and statistical plan strategy through research, collection of data elements, development and maintenance of the data dictionary and element tables, quality control, and reporting
  • Conduct data analysis for data in/out across the Texas Education Exchange platform to ensure data integrity for the platform and TSDS/PEIMS reporting requirements
  • Review submitted data to detect accuracy problems and anomalies and help development and software partners correct data, both current and historical
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including development and software partners, to ensure data integrity
  • Consult on data improvement solutions to enhance the products and services of the platform
  • Conduct user training, as needed
  • Assess requirements and provide feedback to enhance requirements for customized reporting to assist in and support the creation and maintenance of current and future use-case and product development
  • Provide technical assistance and services as specified by any applicable state grant that funds this position.
