A contract-to-hire Creative Manager will focus on leading and designing assets for our client's retail brands. This role will ensure effective processes and consistent experiences across all teams within the Creative Marketing Team and will collaborate with partners (Channel Leaders, Product Marketing, Business Unit Digital Operations, and Project Management) on developing all cross functional initiatives.
Our top candidate contractor will be a full-time contractor (40-hrs a week) for three (3) months with the understanding that a conversion to a fulltime resource FTE is desired. You also must be willing to be onsite with team three (3) days a week in Calhoun, Georgia.
What you'll do:
Manage the creative process and workflow from creative brief submission to release of digital assets such as banners, landing pages and full websites
Facilitate collaboration between copywriters and designers
Provide strategic direction and design vision at the onset of every project
Attend asset review meetings and vet feedback for the creative team
Initiate creative concept meetings after content submission to drive collaboration between creative teams
Manage vendor approvals for brand assets
Create and manage timelines for photography, copy and design, and manage deadlines for creative assets
Develop and refine effective workflow processes, scheduling strategies, and communication models
Communicate obstacles and improvement opportunities
Partner with project management, web developers and digital product owners on system integration and incorporating new processes, tools and workflow systems
Attend weekly enhancement meetings with project managers and fellow design managers
Work with Director of Creative Services to develop, maintain, communicate and train internal teams and external resources/teams on brand standards
Maintain understanding of all aspects of brand standards, design and production process
Ensure performance management through weekly 1:1 meetings and annual reviews
What you have:
Bachelor’s required in graphic design, visual arts, or other relevant fields.
5 to 7 years of design experience.
Three years of design management experience
What you're good at:
Proven ability to lead creative types by providing clear instructions and actionable feedback on creative work
High level of creativity, ingenuity, and judgment required
Excellent presentation, oral, written and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with management, internal and external business contacts
Must be able to present creative work with a strong rationale and be able to defend the work in a positive and professional manner with solid, objective reasoning
Proven ability to manage/implement projects and/or contribute to concept development
Problem solving, analytical skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficient with Mac-based operating systems environment, spreadsheet, graphics intermediate to advance skill
Design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, including XD, InDesign and PhotoShop)
Presentation tools (PowerPoint, Keynote)
Web technology (CMS, HTML, CSS, UI design)
Microsoft Office Suite
Experience working with Home Depot, Lowes or big box retailer preferred, but not mandatory
Ad agency experience preferred, but not mandatory
