The Director of Global Merchandising, Performance – HOKA will lead and direct the execution of HOKA seasonal directives and key initiatives across the Global marketplace inclusive of both the DTC and Wholesale channels (Right Product, Right Place, Right Time). Scope of responsibility is E2E and includes product line plan architecture, price tiering, and franchise management through each key go-to-market gate.

This individual will partner with the product and demand creation teams to drive brand priorities and concepts through a comprehensive go-to-market process. Responsible for the Global 3-year product line plan architecture, the Director of Merchandising will deliver a consumer and data-informed strategic vision to meet or exceed our fiscal year targets. Responsible for the entire marketplace, the Director of Merchandising will ensure DTC is the best expression of HOKA while winning at wholesale with compelling and differentiated assortment direction across all channels. This role will be accountable for the seasonal

Merchandise Finance Plans and partner with Brand Planning to build detailed bottom-up product plans to meet fiscal year revenue and margin targets. They will also help lead seasonal handoffs for our Regional partners throughout the go-to-market process.

The Director of Merchandising will lead and develop their team to continually innovate and implement best merchandising practices and processes while fostering a positive environment.

Your Impact

Business Strategy

  • Oversees the entire Global Merchandising go-to-market calendar meeting all deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the seasonal product line plan architecture to meet or exceed all financial targets and KPIs, ensuring key initiatives are adopted and executed according to Brand Planning guidance.
  • Own distribution and segmentation strategies Globally
  • Develop and lead franchise management plans across the portfolio
  • Lead long-range seed to scale strategies for innovation and culture influence across the integrated marketplace
  • Build seasonal launch and flow plans to optimize Brand activations and key sport and commercial moments
  • Responsible for directing a robust, comprehensive, and informative End of Season (EOS) Review 2x annually to inform the product creation teams of successes and opportunities. Translating meaningful marketplace insights to the product and demand creation teams based on the GTM milestone deadlines
  • Develops an in-season feedback cadence to inform product and demand creation, regional and executive leadership teams of marketplace results to inform future decision making.
  • Outlines growth plans across category gender classification style/SKU and price architecture.
  • Ensures the seasonal assortments will drive annual sales volume and increase HOKA market share.
  • Communicates a keen understanding of the competitive landscape in the footwear and apparel industry, identifying trends and opportunities to all stakeholders and to inform merchandising strategies.
  • Consistently reviews sales performance and inventory to inform in season strategies.
  • Develops Marketplace LRP Range Plans (5 years out) with Brand Planning.

  • Leads by example, provides guidance coaching and training to the Merchandising team, possesses a thorough knowledge of all the roles and responsibilities.
  • Serves as the key liaison between the Global Product and Brand Planning teams and the Regional Merchandising teams.
  • Establish and develop aligned partnerships with cross-functional teams: Product, Brand Planning, DTC, Regions, and Finance Teams.
  • Influences behavior and opinion of others using pertinent data and applying logic to gain consensus.
  • Maximizes internal and external relationships.
  • Provides direction through focusing and clearly communicating the priorities of managing multiple seasons.
  • Effectively manages and supports the career development of direct reports and the entire team, to ensure job satisfaction and future talent development.
  • Serves as an exemplary Leader across the Deckers organization.

  • Ensures we are driving toward a consumer obsessed, omni channel experience across the marketplace through a unified commerce lens.
  • Meets with regions and key stakeholders in conjunction with Sales to understand consumer preferences, trends, and channel nuances.
  • Ensures the HOKA consumers’ needs are incorporated into Global and regional input templates to amplify our position in the marketplace.

Who You Are

  • Strong merchandising experience in the performance/athletic industry; prefer both footwear and apparel expertise.
  • A proven track record to develop and maintain strong cross functional partnerships.
  • Strong leadership skills to train and develop a team.
  • Ability to set priorities, foster cohesion and provide motivation for a unified marketplace view.
  • Ability to make focused decisions based on Brand integrity and Company values.
  • Ability to consistently communicate in a clear and timely manner.
  • Highly organized, able to handle multiple projects with adherence to deadlines.

We’d love to hear from people with

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 10+ years of merchandising experience in both the DTC and Wholesale channels.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong experience in footwear and apparel industry preferred.
