Job Overview:
The Client Company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Training Strategy to develop and lead a training program for a global e-commerce transformation. As a member of the Digital Technology & Experience team, this role is pivotal in ensuring the successful adoption of new tools and processes across both digital and commercial organizations. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong background in training program development and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop Training Strategy:
- Design and implement a comprehensive training strategy with detailed training plans, materials, and resources tailored to various employee roles and levels of technical proficiency.
- Identify training needs and develop programs to address gaps in skills and knowledge.
Training Program Development, Management, and Implementation:
- Lead the creation of training materials, including (but not limited to) workshops, webinars, videos, and reference materials to support ongoing learning and development.
- Ensure training content is relevant, engaging, and up to date with the latest tools and processes.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align training initiatives with business objectives.
- Manage training logistics, including scheduling, resource management, delivery requirements, pre- and post-training communications, etc.
- Develop Train-the-Trainer programs, and (as needed) facilitate training sessions to ensure effective knowledge transfer and engagement.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, operations, HR, and commercial brand and e-commerce teams, to ensure cohesive training efforts.
- Communicate effectively with global stakeholders to ensure training programs meet diverse cultural and regional needs.
Measurement and Evaluation:
- Develop metrics to assess the effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven improvements.
- Conduct regular evaluations and report on training outcomes to senior leadership.
Change Management:
- Support change management initiatives by communicating the benefits of new tools and processes while addressing employee concerns and resistance.
- Collaborate closely with program management and change management team members to facilitate smooth transitions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Education, Human Resources, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in leading large-scale training programs, ideally in the context of a company-wide digital transformation, within matrixed organizations. Preferably the experience is in a global setting. Experience from a top-tier consulting firm is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of e-commerce platforms, digital technology, and industry best practices. Ideal if the candidate has direct experience developing training for enterprise PIM systems. Self-starter with strong initiative, energy, independence, accountability, and attention to detail, who proactively identifies opportunities, confidently navigates ambiguity, and translates strategy, challenges, and emerging priorities into action.
- Creative problem-solver, with a track record of developing training programs and content that maximize reach and effectiveness with less-than-ideal resources.
- Excellent and persuasive written and oral communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling content, tailor messages by audience, and facilitate in virtual and live environments.
- Deadline-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple moving parts, successfully prioritize and handle multiple tasks, and be flexible in a fast-changing environment.
- Ability to navigate and influence a complex global organizational structure, develop rapport and relationships with colleagues globally, and manage multiple stakeholder groups.
- Proficiency in using training management systems and e-learning platforms.
