General Description
The Director is the lead operational enrollment manager for Notre Dame de Namur (NDNU), reporting to the Dean of Enrollment Management. This position leads the professional team for the Office of Admission with up to six direct reports.
Students at NDNU are interested in professional practice-focused academic programs that lead to advanced careers in education, business, and psychology. Programs are primarily at the graduate level although degree completion for undergraduate students is also available. Programs are offered in a multitude of modalities and the institution supports up to six starts per year, depending on the program. In a highly competitive higher education market, the Director of Admissions should have a deep understanding of relational sales and guide the team to deliver a high-touch, supportive enrollment experience.
Responsibilities
The Director provides collaborative, mission-centered leadership for the admissions team and, through their work, supports and collaborates with fellow enrollment management professionals dedicated to serving and supporting students from admission to the University through graduation. Responsibilities

Leadership
- Recruit, develop, supervise, and engender a sense of camaraderie among the enrollment team; motivate, inspire, and retain a high-functioning and talented team through excellent training, professional development, internal coaching, and mentorship.
- Identify ways to manage and optimize the Admission Office budget through resourcefulness and maximization of staff’s individual and collective strengths.
- Represent NDNU to internal and external audiences including regional partners and representatives from the academic programs.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to access, equity, and inclusion in enrollment and management practices; ensure the admission office has a continually updated diversity recruitment plan that values multiple forms of diversity and manages key relationships and programs.
- Demonstrate experience in strategic recruitment and enrollment practices, including the management of all admission recruitment, selection, and yield initiatives, market analysis efforts, and sophisticated travel and outreach approaches appropriate for the graduate and post-traditional learners.
- Possess an innovative mindset and the ability to evaluate admission market and enrollment trends.
- Facilitate partnership, collaboration, and communication with key partners in marketing and communications, financial aid, the Registrar, institutional research, and academic program leadership.
- Serve a critical role in ensuring a segmented and integrated strategy for all recruitment, applicant, and yield communications is successfully executed.
- In partnership with the Dean of Enrollment Management, ensure resources and prioritization are given to data reporting, analysis, and evaluation of all admission initiatives.
- Supervises the processing of application materials while leveraging customer relationship management (CRM) strategies.
- Strategically analyze enrollment data and trends to ensure the Admission Office’s outreach efforts are responsive to changing demographics and are designed to meet the goals of the institution.
- Appreciate and utilize technology to ensure systems and processes are aligned to effectively communicate with constituencies and to evaluate appropriate decision points.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of five years of admissions experience showing progressive advancement through the ranks leading recruitment efforts.
- A minimum of three years of experience in hiring, supervision, management decision-making, and team development is required.
- A track record of growing a diverse student headcount and revenue in a competitive environment is essential.
- Demonstrated analytic and reporting ability, creativity, and organizational skills.
- An ability to use relational admissions databases as well as MS Office.
- The ability to manage and organize multiple projects simultaneously.
- An appreciation and commitment to the University’s mission are required.
- Experience at a not-for-profit college or university, serving graduate and post-traditional learners.
- Experience developing and implementing a strategic enrollment plan that identifies required resources and appropriate key performance indicators.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively on diverse, cross-functional committees and project teams.
- Demonstrated skills in relational sales strategies and customer service.
- Strong writing skills and experience creating effective marketing communications.
- Experience with Element451 and/or Jenzabar (J1).
- Ability to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to go the extra mile to bring projects to completion, meet deadlines, etc.
