About the job:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of FP&A supporting People Planning for a large global client. This is a newly created role designed to provide strategic partnership to key leaders in HR, talent, and legal organizations. People related cost primarily include salaries and wages, payroll taxes, benefits, variable compensation, travel and entertainment and training. The Company’s FP&A team is in growth mode, thus the ideal candidate will enjoy building and establishing new processes and routines, have demonstrated experience collaborating in a matrix environment, possess strong partnering and influencing skills and operate with a continuous improvement mindset. From a technical perspective a successful candidate will have been exposed to benefits analysis and analytic support for variable compensation plan design and administration. This role will manage a team and report to the VP of Global FP&A.


In This Role, You Will

  • Serve as primary finance business partner to Chief Talent Officer, Chief Legal Officer, and their direct reports to support strategic initiatives providing insights, analytics, and financial considerations to inform decision making, minimize surprises and surface potential risk
  • Advise and lead financial cycle for Talent /HR/Legal organization G&A expenditures driving month-end close analysis and reporting, re-forecast and budget development ensuring a forward-looking lens to inform and guide leaders
  • Spearhead new approach to workforce planning for enterprise to drive consistent, transparent, and centralized methods to deliver budget, forecast and monthly analytics
  • Design, socialize and launch standard costing model for benefits to burden functional leaders’ budgets while centralizing management to drive greater support to business process owner
  • Partner with Pricing and Commissions team to understand various commission and sales bonus plans and develop financial model to project variable compensation expense aligned with KPI’s and budget assumptions to ensure expense aligns with budget and forecast
  • Centralize non-sales bonus administration partnering with HR for headcount rosters ensuring accruals are accurate and cash flow impacts are communicated for quarterly pay-outs
  • Provide hands-on leadership and development to FP&A team creating a positive environment for team member growth and fostering collaboration across both finance and the wider enterprise
  • Contribute new ideas to drive continuous improvement to business processes and systems and tools


The Skills You’ll Bring Include

  • 10+ years of progressive experience, including managerial or directorial roles
  • Proven track record of success in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities
  • Comfortable leading and coaching teams, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
  • Previously sat in financial analyst roles supporting G&A expenses, specifically HR function and corporate FP&A, with exposure to variable compensation analytics
  • Robust analytical, critical thinking and financial modeling skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
  • Prior experience in building scalable processes and driving continuous improvement and automation within a growing Finance organization
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, and organized with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management including C level
  • Self-motivated and able to take ownership and responsibility for end to end process and knows how to work independently, but when to consult with other
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • MBA or graduate degree preferred but not required
