The Director of Human Resources will be a key strategic partner within a high-growth organization. This role will define and embed HR strategy throughout the organization driving a performance driven culture across KEH. This role will directly oversee an HR associate and will be primarily responsible for the following –

Talent Acquisition

  • Partner with the executive leadership team to build talent strategy by identifying, prioritizing, and building organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes driving a performance driven culture through the organization
  • Support department leaders to identify organizational requirements needed to sustain a high-performance culture while developing plans to generate a strong talent pipeline for growth (internally and externally)
  • Partner with all areas of the organization to ensure job profiles, roles and responsibilities are clearly defined within the organization
  • Lead and communicate effectively with employees and/or candidates for a seamless talent acquisition experience when filling open or new roles


People Development & Retention

  • Drive KEH values of Knowledge, Excellence, and Heart within the organization by owning education, adoption and accountability of our core values
  • Lead the growth and development of the team(s) by providing constructive and respectful feedback while maintaining a trustworthy and open-minded attitude toward all


Own in conjunction with business leaders, workforce planning, succession planning and organizational design. Identify opportunities for training, new skill acquisition and advancement – drive talent strategy

  • Lead the performance management system and process driving a high-performance culture; annual performance reviews, goal setting, 9-box assessments, etc.
  • Advocates for initiatives that will positively impact employees and the organization. Translates initiatives into action plans and actively seeks to resolve drivers of employee turnover
  • Manage and advise the leadership team on all employee relations and performance matters (conflict resolution, complaints and critical investigations) to move toward resolution
  • Partner with benefit brokers, payroll providers and other employee engagement organizations to ensure best in class benefits and programs are offered to our employees annually. Maintain fiscal responsibility throughout this process
  • Own the community service/volunteer day(s) planning, employee committee whose purpose is to drive team building events, quarterly town halls, holiday party, and other employee engagement initiatives


Compliance & Communication

  • Owns and manages the employee handbook and applicable company policies. Provides updates and communicates to all employees
  • Ensure the organization follows all applicable Federal, State and Local labor laws where applicable
  • Provide decision support to executive leadership team through HR metrics
  • Lead the annual training and certification programs required for employees. Maintain best in class programs to meet the changing needs of the organization
  • Work with the leadership team on employee communications when organizational updates occur, or major initiatives need to be announced


BUDGETARY / EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with candidates and agencies representing KEH for talent acquisition needs, ensuring all recruiting agencies have contracts in line with KEH policies
  • Will participate in the annual budget process and will have direct responsibility for the human resource department & company benefits budget


SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE - ANY DUTIES NOT CONSIDERED ESSENTIAL)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR JOB PERFORMANCE)

  • Possesses a strong business acumen and clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between HR and business strategy
  • Proficient with Paycor, or other major HR / Performance and Payroll system
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments to handle changing priorities in a high-growth, fast paced environment
  • Expert knowledge of HR policies and processes
  • Highly motivated and dedicated to contributing to the growth and success of the company
  • Aptitude to engage, inspire and influence at all levels including senior leadership


Prior Work Experience And Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent from an accredited college or university
  • SHRM designation highly preferred
  • 7-10+ years of experience in human resource management preferred; must demonstrate management skills across multiple departments
  • Corporate and retail industry experience preferred
