Job Description
Position: Director of Learning & Staff Development
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer, Residential & Recovery Services
Function: Responsible for the assessment of organization-wide training, educational and staff developmental needs, driving training initiatives and identifying/arranging suitable learning and development solutions for employees that align with the organization’s goals.

Position: Director of Learning & Staff Development
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer, Residential & Recovery Services
Function: Responsible for the assessment of organization-wide training, educational and staff developmental needs, driving training initiatives and identifying/arranging suitable learning and development solutions for employees that align with the organization’s goals.
Tasks:
- Design a training and development strategy aligned with organizational objectives
- Develop group and individual learning courses
- Use performance reviews and skills gap analyses to identify training needs per department, team and individual
- Craft career/staff development plans
- Oversee learning activities, curricula and resources
- Evaluate the results of learning courses
- Assist in the development of training opportunities for staff advancement
- Implement coaching sessions and mentorship programs to establish a culture of continuous learning
- Oversee the implementation of a learning management system
- Recommend new training methods
- Deliver targeted training sessions
- Duties as assigned by supervisor
- Work experience as a Training Director, Training Manager or similar role
- In-depth understanding of traditional and contemporary learning modalities and training methods, including workshops, simulations, e-learning and coaching
- Experience organizing training activities and designing education and staff development curricula in a corporate environment
- Hands-on experience with project management
- Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- BS/MS in Human Resources, Learning, Development, Organizational Psychology or relevant field
- Experience promoting the development of staff with lived experience with a behavioral health condition preferred.
