Position Overview Be a part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to sponsoring the creation and expansion of protected and conserved areas. As the Director of Philanthropy you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of major donors with 5 to 8-figure gifts with a team collectively raising $40 million a year.
Responsibilities
Manage and build a portfolio of major donors
Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies for donors in the portfolio
Liaise with teams including marketing and conservation, business units, and board of directors with the goal of raising major gifts
Organize and staff major donor events
Staff and lead the Philanthropy Committee of the Board
Advise leadership and Board on major giving trends
Pursue all the above objectives in alignment with our core values
Qualifications
Strong experience managing a portfolio of major donors
Proven success bringing in 5-8 figure gifts
Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships
Prioritize meeting portfolio goals and understand and adhere to data privacy expectations and regulations
Ability to successfully develop and execute fundraising strategies and conduct relationship mapping
Stay up to date on cutting-edge fundraising best practices
Ability to coordinate and plan all aspects of small major donor events
Inspire and compel high-net-worth individuals to give at events
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong technical proficiency with CRMs and other donor research tools
Commitment to and enthusiasm for the organization’s mission and core values
Compensation
Salary: $110,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience
