Director of Preconstruction

We are growing our Greenville, SC Team!

As part of the divisional management team, the Director of Preconstruction acts as a key leader in the entire work acquisition process including management, coordination, and delivery of the preconstruction phases of the project and extensive client contact; and requires experience growing and mentoring a preconstruction team, and experience leading preconstruction efforts on large, complex, commercial projects.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years' commercial construction experience with a General Contractor, with at least 5 of those years in a preconstruction role;
• Familiarity with and established industry relationships in the Greater Greenville area;
• Focus on K-12 and higher education markets;
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or equivalent/applicable degree;
• Proficiency in technology, with the ability to adapt to new innovations and processes;
• Exceptional communication, negotiation and client relationship skills;
• Creative problem-solving and strong organizational and analytical skills;
• Able to work in a highly diverse and inclusive environment; and
• Confidence and humility in equal measure, with a "roll up your sleeves" team approach.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the preconstruction process and resources;
• Collaborate closely with team members across all divisions of company;
• Mentor and develop direct reports;
• Maintain collaborative relationships with clients, designers, engineers, consultants and subcontractors;
• Produce conceptual estimates for clients across multiple sectors;
• Facilitate and manage the value management process throughout design development; and
• Proactively engage in business development.
