Job Title: Director of Procurement
Location: Greater Boston
Position Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Procurement & Sourcing to lead our Procurement department. The Director of Procurement will play a crucial role in managing our supply chain, sourcing high-quality ingredients, and ensuring efficient procurement processes that align with our business goals and values.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that optimize cost, quality, and supplier relationships across all categories of food and beverage ingredients and supplies.
- Lead negotiations and contract management with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service agreements.
- Collaborate closely with culinary and operations teams to understand ingredient requirements and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, fostering partnerships that drive innovation and reliability in the supply chain.
- Oversee all inventory management and forecasting to minimize waste and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings, product innovation, and sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to procurement and supply chain operations.
- Manage and develop a high-performing procurement team, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to achieve departmental goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management within the food and beverage industry.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable contract terms.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience in managing and developing a team.
- Deep understanding of food safety standards, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in utilizing data-driven insights to inform procurement decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
