Reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer, this position is instrumental in fostering strong relationships with both existing and prospective clients while achieving ambitious sales and profit targets. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills in developing and guiding a team of Account Managers, positioning Georgia Nut as a trusted partner within the industry.

Key responsibilities include promoting our full range of capabilities and product offerings, with a strategic focus on identifying and capitalizing on high-value growth opportunities. Additionally, the Director of Sales will be responsible for nurturing the professional development of team members, establishing and monitoring relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and leading the team towards the achievement of company goals and objectives.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and Implement Sales Strategy: Formulate and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company's objectives and market trends in the food industry. Identify target markets, key accounts, and growth opportunities within the food manufacturing sector.
  • Lead Sales Team: Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to the sales team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on achieving sales targets and delivering exceptional customer service. Hire, train, and develop sales professionals to drive business growth in the food industry.
  • Build and Manage Client Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients in the food industry. Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, understanding their needs, addressing concerns, and proactively identifying opportunities to expand business partnerships.
  • Drive Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth by consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas in the food industry. Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding product offerings to maximize revenue generation and profitability.
  • Market Analysis and Intelligence: Stay abreast of market trends, competitive dynamics, and industry developments related to the food industry. Conduct regular market analysis and gather intelligence to inform strategic decision-making and identify emerging opportunities in food manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams including operations, product development, marketing, and finance to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business objectives in the food industry. Collaborate on new product launches, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.
  • Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Develop accurate sales forecasts and reports to track performance against targets, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement in the food industry. Provide regular updates to senior management on sales metrics, market insights, and business opportunities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the sales organization, implementing best practices, refining sales processes, and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the food industry. Seek feedback from customers and internal stakeholders to drive ongoing improvements in service delivery.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies in the food industry. Uphold ethical standards in all sales activities and maintain transparency and integrity in client interactions.
  • Represent the Company: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to showcase products/services, build brand visibility, and network with key stakeholders in the food industry.
