A Day In The Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Along with VP of Research & Insights, lead, manage, and coach a team of analysts and researchers to deliver high-quality market research and insights to support business growth and decision-making
- Develop and execute the research roadmap across the student journey to ensure that the team is gathering and analyzing relevant data on customer and student behavior and other key insights to ensure the team is addressing the short-term needs of cross-functional partners while laying the groundwork for medium- and long-term impact that operational teams have not yet envisaged
- Drive projects from conceptualization and hypothesis development through to designing approach to synthesis / analysis, and operationalization with key operational collaborators / stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives and ensure that market research and insights are aligned with these goals
- Use quantitative and qualitative analysis to generate insights that inform business decisions, including product development, customer segmentation and prioritization, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans
- Differentiate AP’s unrivaled understanding of our students to external audiences by using primary research and insights to deliver thought leadership to the market
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and any third-party resources as needed to support and/or amplify research capabilities
- Build a thorough understanding of AP’s offerings and unique value proposition, and how we add value to students and our university partners to be able to identify, scope, and launch Research initiatives
- Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders and work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt and change priorities as the business needs change
- Develop a cadence of launching surveys, synthesizing and packaging for relevant insights, and disseminating those insights across the organization.
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in analytics and insights gathering or related field, ideally leading high-impact research teams of 3 or more individuals
- Proven track record of successfully scoping and delivering projects, building and leveraging appropriate processes and tools
- Exceptional analytical skills – able to evaluate opportunities from strategic, financial, operational and technical perspectives
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective manager with ability to hold people accountable; create clear plans to meet and exceed goals; offer clear, timely, actionable feedback to direct reports and collaborators
- Management consulting experience preferred, with a heavy emphasis on high-velocity, project- based initiatives
- Experience in the Online Program Management and / or Higher Education sectors preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
- Humility / willingness to question one’s own assumptions / desire to constantly improve
- Executive presence, capable of establishing trust and confidence
- Effective communicator (written, verbal)
- Fast paced / Bias towards immediate action and results
