Electrical Drafter

Job purpose

At Shredfast Inc., an Electrical Drafter is responsible for creating and managing the development and correct filing of electrical CAD drawings. These drawings are a key resource for the company’s records, Service and the Electrical Department. The Electrical Drafter is responsible for ensuring that the Electrical Department is being provided with accurate electrical drawings, allowing the production electrical technicians to conduct their work as the production schedule dictates. The Electrical Drafter will on occasion work collaboratively with Design & Service to achieve a required result.

Primary Duties

• Creation of electrical CAD drawings
• Digital filing of electrical CAD drawings for both Service & Electrical Department access
• Able to read and interpret documents and specifications, converting information into accurate representations of the electrical builds
• Assist with electrical customer service workload
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Ancillary Duties

• Build and install electrical control panels
• Perform quality assurance for electrical builds
• When necessary use electrical drawing design knowledge and historical experience to assist primary technician responsible for installing and adjusting mechanical control programming
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Must be in good physical condition and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be self-motivated and able to stay on task with good attention to detail
• Dependable transportation required
• Must maintain a clean and organized work environment
  
  

Additional Information

All applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. This is a Safety Sensitive position that requires a pre-employment drug screen that includes marijuana (tetrahydrocannabinol – THC & nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites- CBD), amphetamines, cocaine metabolites, opioids (including heroin, morphine, and codeine), and phencyclidine (PCP).

Shift Schedule

Monday to Friday / 7:00am – 3:30pm (non-exempt) for Full-Time position (Part-Time positions also available)

Requirements

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent work-related experience using CAD (Specialized training will be provided on the job)
• Able to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Must be detail oriented and thorough in following protocol and procedures.
• Able to work alone and/or under supervision of the Electrical Technician Department Tier 3 Lead.
• 5v-12v vehicle electrical systems experience
• Experience with ECM and Low power control devices
• Exceptional knowledge of electrical circuit design and documentation
• Ability to go from concept to vehicle build seamlessly
• Willing to work in a production environment – this is a hands-on working on the production floor position
• Able to put concept drawings into AUTO CADD and document theory of circuit for manuals and training materials
• Experience or at least a burning desire to work on EV platforms and prepare us for the future of Computer controlled vehicles
• Must be self-motivated and able to stay on task with good attention to detail.
