Electrical Engineer

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:

This position is responsible to working closely with the customers to develop automotive components for N.A. production. The incumbent will be required to perform all aspects of the business including electrical engineering, programming, MATLAB/Simulink modeling and simulation, analog circuit design, circuit simulation.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING/CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION/MARKET RESEARCH

• Electrical Engineering
• Works directly with the customers to develop parts. Sometimes serves as a liaison between MAS and its affiliates and the customers; Determines project requirements.
• Coordinates and reviews engineering schedules.
• Supports other MAS facilities by attending QA meetings at customer's manufacturing facility to evaluate part quality and function.
• As a software engineer, programs in several languages, model and simulates in MATLAB / Simulink.
• As a hardware engineer, designs analog circuits, conducts simulation of circuits, and solders.
• Uses measuring instruments such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters to collect the data needed for product development.
• Verifies the validity of mass production inspection machines, including confirmation of communication data and measurement of voltage and current values.
• Is responsible for the verification of actual vehicle compatibility; supports production trials.
• Works with members of the Cost Planning group to prepare cost information for quotations.
• Works with the Cost Planning group to develop value added/product improvement ideas.
• Customer Communication
• Communicates directly with customer and MAS-Japan.
• Proposes value added/product improvement ideas to customers in presentations.

• Market Research
• Conducts benchmarking studies of competitive components and reports the results to upper management.
• Is responsible for developing knowledge of market and technology trends.
• Researches to find user needs.

• OTHER
• Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
• Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Management.
• Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace.
• Reports all irregular issues and problems to Management for solution.
• Maintains good communication with Management, co-workers and outside contacts.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.
• Supports co-workers and other departments when requested by Management.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES:

EDUCATIONAL

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SALARY

At NMB, the pay band for this role is between $65,100.00 and $73,500.00 annually, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The base pay is a part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range of the pay band process.
