Our global air lines client is looking for a Strategist, Global Events Strategy. The ideal candidate is a relationship-builder who aligns with our client’s Core Values of being welcoming, elevated & caring and is an effective communicator responsible to:

  1. Support the strategy & measurement of Global Event Signature Events
  2. Discover & implement global event planner efficiencies using tech/enterprise tools
  3. Advance sourcing standards & strengthen vendor relationships with Supply Chain Management
  4. Produce/Maintain Branded Event Resources


The Global Events team is a centralized group of experts leading highly produced customer & employee meetings, events, conferences, and hospitality programs while also providing event guidance and tools to support event organizers within the client enterprise. This role will engage with the core Global Events team & the enterprise (divisions) to offer strategic event guidance and branded resources that drive consistency & promote cost savings.


Overview: This is a 20 hours/week contract role through the end of 2025 with opportunities to extend. Must be ATL-based and open to 2-3 days/week onsite.


Responsibilities


Events Strategy: Supports key Global Events achievements (metrics, corp initiatives, vendor performance, etc.)

  • Builds & supports various strategic projects (e.g., portfolio review, survey analysis, application of corp initiatives, effective storytelling, recommendations, etc.)
  • Leads & Facilitates all Signature Global Event Kickoff & Debrief Meetings
  • Reviews existing planner processes and finds ways to optimize/streamline
  • Manages through Cvent: Traffic Meeting Requests, Conduct Process Compliance Audits (incl budgets), KPI Measurement/Achievements & various data inputs to further GE technology adoption
  • Maintain/Update Internal + Enterprise Events Calendar & Signature Event Photo Library
  • Researches new resources/tools/trends relevant to Planner efficiency across Global Events
  • Develops effective & well-designed documents including one-pagers, executive summaries, pitches, proposals, decks, event recaps to support Global Event initiatives
  • Produce/Maintain Branded Event Resources (templates, playbook content, GE intranet page)


Vendor Management: Engages with new & existing vendors while also working closely with cross-functional teams to craft vendor lists, performance reviews & RFP strategies

  • Builds, Expands & Manages Global Events Full Event Vendor List
  • Provides curated vendor recommendations to event partners that are aligned with event objectives, budget & overall event vision
  • Attends key cross-functional team meetings to drive vendor discipline with Supply Chain Management
  • Comfortability searching for new vendors and finding creative ways to “test” their talents and capabilities while also maintaining relationships with existing vendors.
  • Facilitates batch vendor requests w/cross-functional teams to drive cost-savings, volume discounts & supports vendor RFP strategies


Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of corporate / customer / client-facing agency / hospitality experience
  • At least 3 years of direct event management experience including pre-planning & on-site execution plus creative, production, budget management, and food & beverage
  • Experience leading/managing virtual/hybrid meetings
  • The ideal candidate is client-centered & will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment and will approach any task or obstacle with a ‘can-do’ demeanor
  • Must be a self-starter who is comfortable leading multiple projects simultaneously, proficiently & respectful of deadlines
  • Searches for innovative ways to reach target audiences and/or influence others in a corporate matrix environment
  • Strong executive presence, business maturity and client-facing experience
  • Experience working with Cvent
  • Highly proficient PC skills including sophisticated level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint are required
  • Position is based in ATL, hybrid work environment (2-3 days at HQ, 2-3 days remote); travel may be required (up to 25%)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in corporate communications, public relations and marketing communications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience from an accredited college or university with major course work in marketing, business administration, communications
