Executive Director - Remote | WFH

The Executive Director will lead our organization through a period of growth and transformation. This role involves managing and expanding our staff and operating budget, while advancing our mission to preserve and celebrate Mexican folk culture through dance. You will work closely with the Board and Artistic Director to create and implement strategic plans, guide program development, and ensure financial stability through effective fundraising.

We are looking for a collaborative leader with a passion for the arts, capable of inspiring a team and building strong community relationships. This role requires navigating the challenges of leading a volunteer-based cultural arts organization and driving organizational processes to ensure our continued impact.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the organization's strategic plan and annual action plans with the board.

Program Development and Management: Design, implement, and oversee programs and services aligned with our mission and strategic goals.

Fundraising and Development: Collaborate with the board to develop fundraising strategies, diversify revenue streams, and manage the budget and financial resources.

Leadership and Management: Motivate and develop the team, supervise and evaluate staff, and coordinate with board committees, volunteers, and partners.

Community Engagement: Build effective relationships within the arts community and beyond, ensuring our programs are represented and accessible to the local community.

Advocacy: Act as the chief spokesperson and ambassador, promoting the value of the arts and garnering community support.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

A genuine passion for dance, arts, and culture.

A bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, the arts, or a related field (master's degree is a plus).

At least 5 years of experience in people management.

Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills with a proven ability to motivate and develop staff and volunteers.

Knowledge of the San Francisco Bay Area arts community and experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

A successful track record in fundraising and donor relations, including experience with donor databases and managing corporate sponsors.

Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with a visionary and innovative mindset.

Sound skills and experience in finance, accounting, marketing, and program development.

Experience in grassroots, startup nonprofit, or cultural arts organizations is a plus.

Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.

A valid California driver's license with state-mandated insurance coverage.
