The Food Service Assistant position is assigned to the Nutritional Services Department. Work involves the skill of reading and interpreting information to make independent decisions regarding the accurate service of regular, consistency modified, and/or therapeutic diet modifications while meeting the prescribed service schedule. Â Employee may act as lead worker and assist in the training of other food service personnel. Â This employee may be involved in food production tasks. Â Work is reviewed by a Food Service Supervisor for skill in applying food handling standards and sanitation techniques.

Work schedule is 6:00 am to 3:00 pm; 10:15 am to 7:15 pm with rotating weekends/holidays.

 Cherry Hospital (CH) is a State-of-the-Art psychiatric hospital located in a beautiful rural area of Goldsboro, NC.  Although rural, Cherry Hospital is convenient to the Triangle Area (Raleigh/Durham) and the coastal region of the state. It is about an hour's drive to the heart of Raleigh or the beautiful coastal town of New Bern.

Education and/or experience in food service that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade.

Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
