Job Overview:

My client is seeking an experienced Fund Controller to join their fast-growing company. This role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements for various funds, managing fund series reporting, and overseeing quarterly and annual financial documents. Responsibilities include supporting fund accounting, coordinating external audits, handling client capital calls, and implementing internal controls. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of fund accounting and financial reporting.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Lead in the preparation and review of financial statements for various funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Actively manage the reporting for fund series and separate accounts, ensuring alignment with their specific reporting needs.
• Oversee the preparation and/or review of quarterly reports, annual business plans, annual audit/tax reporting, and other financial documents.
• Lead/Support fund accounting, including NAV (Net Asset Value) calculations, investor allocations, and fee structures.
• Prepare client capital call and distribution notices, quarterly investor statements, and other requests.
• Ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations and internal policies, maintaining comprehensive and accurate financial records.
• Manage external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules, liaising with auditors, and addressing any findings or recommendations.
• Implement and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard assets, improve operational efficiency, and ensure financial data integrity.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Master’s degree or MBA preferred
• CPA designation preferred
• Public accounting experience preferred
• 6-10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
• Experience in a PE environment and Fund/Credit accounting required
