Head of Asset Portfolio Management

This is a fully remote role for candidates who are based outside of the New York Metropolitan area. For those located in the area, we encourage you to consider our hybrid work arrangement (1-2 days a week in our NYC office). Energy storage is the key to unlocking a future where our world is powered by renewable resources. At Convergent Energy and Power, our mission is to make the electrical grid cleaner, more reliable, and less expensive by leveraging state-of-the-art energy storage and distributed generation technologies.

The Head of Asset Portfolio Management will own and drive the optimization of Convergent's energy storage and renewable energy portfolio. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is pivotal in maximizing financial performance, ensuring compliance, and driving product innovation. This role initially requires the ideal candidate to roll up their sleeves and build our capability while, in the long run, building out a team that can scalably carry out these capabilities. Leadership experience, strong people management skills, and the ability to scale teams and processes from day one is a must.

What You'll Do

Financial:

  • Strategic P&L Ownership: Take full ownership of the Profit & Loss (P&L) for the asset portfolio, developing and executing strategies to maximize profitability and value creation for the company
  • Revenue Framework: Document revenue streams for each asset into a clear framework, utilizing current reporting and contracts
  • Innovative Revenue Improvement: Employ creative thinking to review historical asset performance, identify opportunities for revenue improvement, and set ambitious yet realistic targets
  • Financial Performance Measurement: Establish a process for promptly measuring each asset's financial performance after each reporting period


Strategic:

  • Strategic Asset Planning: Create detailed plans for each asset to maximize revenue, including minor adjustments and major strategic decisions, while also being open to unconventional approaches and outside-the-box thinking
  • Market Expertise: Cultivate a team with a deep understanding of the energy markets where we currently operate and new markets we aim to enter, ensuring strategic decisions are informed by comprehensive market insights


Data-Driven:

  • Performance Indicators: Identify leading performance indicators, collect real-time data, and integrate it into a dashboard for each asset
  • PeakIQ Development: Drive the strategic direction for PeakIQ, prioritizing product developments based on value and resource availability
  • Asset Management Tools: Manage and optimize the tools responsible for Asset Management (KPIs, financial performance, and ROI maximization), ensuring they are effective, up-to-date, and aligned with our strategic goals


Operational:

  • Operational Collaboration: Ensure strategic alignment with the operations team for asset management and day-to-day operations
  • Compliance Management: Maintain a comprehensive list of compliance reporting requirements and ensure processes are in place to meet them


Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in energy asset management, product strategy, and compliance
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in product development and market analysis
  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities, with experience in cross-functional team alignment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate-level degree in a related field
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, building new capabilities
  • Familiarity with renewable energy construction and operational practices

Base Salary Range: $210,000- $225,000; Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience.
