Job Description for Nurse 3 Part Time Contractor Sunnyvale
Location: The nurse will provide part-time onsite services at the Sunnyvale, CA site.
Hours: Thursday-Friday, 6:00am-3:00pm - may be asked to provide additional support to cover time off of other nurses
Description Of Nurse 3 Duties
" Respond to emergencies and administer first aid to employees for job related illnesses and injuries.
" Deliver OSHA and job/site/contract required surveillance program services (i.e. hearing conservation, respiratory protection, visual acuity, bloodborne pathogens, biological monitoring, etc.) to identified employee populations in collaboration with Environmental Health and Safety. Note: most of these services are performed offsite by an outside clinic, but the nurse will be responsible for scheduling, obtaining and reviewing all results from the clinic.
" Maintain accurate recordkeeping in electronic medical records system (Cority) in compliance with OSHA requirements.
" Dispense OTC Medications.
" Work with industrial toxicology and/or hygienists to recognize environmental factors and/or stresses in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health, or discomfort among the workers. Nurse will assist in providing appropriate training to management and employees.
" Maintain compliance with laws, regulations and standards governing occupational health and safety for employees and the workplace.
Required Basic Qualifications
" At least 5+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse with Associate of Science in Nursing
" Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail and internet navigation
" Strong presentation skills
" Ability to work independently or with a team on special projects
" Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
" Strong attention to detail
" Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously
" Ability to maintain confidential documents and information
" Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at one time under tight deadlines
" Ability to function within all levels of organization and at various locations
Required Certifications
" CPR/BLS
Preferred Qualifications
" Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
" 2+ years in occupational health
Preferred Certifications
" Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC)
" Spirometry (NIOSH approved course optimal)
" Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN)
" Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)
