Role Overview

As the HR Assistant at Chotto Matte, you will be the cornerstone of our human resources operations. Your role is supportive and essential in maintaining our HR functions' high standards. You'll assist in various HR processes, from recruitment and onboarding to employee engagement and compliance, ensuring that our team's seamless experience aligns with our brand's values. This role reports directly to the Regional Human Resources Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating and supporting all aspects of HR operations.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely handling of HR tasks and documentation.
  • Maintain and update employee records with strict confidentiality.
  • Support recruitment processes, including job postings, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Assist in onboarding new employees and coordinating orientation sessions. Address employee inquiries and guide on HR policies and procedures.
  • Help resolve employee issues and escalate complex matters to HR management.
  • Assist in processing payroll, tracking attendance, and managing time-off requests.
  • Coordinate employee training sessions and track completion of mandatory courses.
  • Prepare HR-related reports, presentations, and communications.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and projects. F

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Human Resources or related roles.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Preference of an understanding of the hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of San Francisco, California labor laws.
  • Exceptional communication skills, maintaining a friendly and positive demeanor.
  • Self-motivated individual driven to excel and advance within the company.
  • Demonstrates high levels of flexibility and commitment to meeting HR department demands.
  • Capable of effectively managing difficult situations.
  • Strong organizational abilities while maintaining high levels of confidentiality are key.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to move with agility, stand for extended periods, and bend as necessary.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of items up to 25 lbs.
