Job Description
The Position
Organon's Global Public Policy Office in Washington, D.C. is looking for an extraordinary graduate or recently graduated fellow interested in international relations and policy development. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the life-sciences sector and learn how companies, stakeholders, and governments address public health issues.
Organon, a life-sciences company with a mission to advance women's health, is seeking graduate or post-graduate Associate for its International Public Policy and Government Affairs team. The Associate will have a broad set of responsibilities including to support policy research and advocacy across regional and therapeutic areas and will work closely with multiple teams within the organization. This is a paid fellowship position based in Washington, DC. The position allows for a virtual and flexible work schedule, to be worked out with the supervisor, but weekly time-in-office and in-person meetings are expected.

Required Education, Experience And Skills
Successful candidates will be someone effective in engaging with people from diverse cultures and perspectives, detail-oriented, a team player, and have excellent editing, organizational and writing skills. The person would be a self-starter comfortable with outside-the-box thinking and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team. Flexibility, responsiveness, and an ability to work under pressure both independently and collaboratively.
Paid Fellowship. Anticipated start date in the Summer/Fall 2024 for a 6-month duration.

Responsibilities
The Associate will have the following primary responsibilities:
- Conduct independent projects including the collection, analysis, and synthesis of data and/or information related to the biopharmaceutical and medical technology industries, public health, trade policies, as well as relevant institutions, regulatory processes, and initiatives.
- Support the Global Public Policy Office in its daily or routine tasks and operations, including developing talking points, presentations, and backgrounders.
- Organize and facilitate meetings and events, either independently or as part of a team, including managing workflow and logistics.
- Observe and report out summaries of external meetings including industry briefings, policy forums, diplomatic engagements, and Congressional hearings.
- Attend internal meetings and strategy sessions.
- Develop materials for internal and external use.
- Other responsibilities, as assigned.
Required Education, Experience And Skills
- Currently or recently enrolled in a relevant graduate degree program (public diplomacy, international relations or economics, global or public health, life sciences, medicine, etc.).
- 0-3 years relevant professional experience.
- Interest in public health, women's health, and/or international diplomacy.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- Strong relationship building and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to high quality work products.
- Preference will be given to candidates with foreign language skills, including Spanish, Japanese, or Korean, and/or prior government experience.
